Kim Kardashian has admitted that she’s worried she might lose her hair to pull off her stunning look at the Met Gala on Monday.

The 41-year-old SKIMS founder borrowed Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! The museum – which paid $4.8m (£3.9m) at an auction in November 2016 – was worn by Monroe when she sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to then US President John F. Kennedy in 1962.

The theme of the night was “In America: An Anthology of Fashion and the Gilded Glamour” and the reality TV star definitely pulled out all the stops to be the center of attention at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The figure-hugging Jean Louis gown adorned more than 6,000 crystals and Kardashian admitted to Vogue on the red carpet that she lost 16 pounds just to fit in this outfit.

It was later revealed that Kim could not zip the dress during the marquee event and was forced to leave it open, which she covered with a white fur shawl. She completed her Marilyn Monroe look with platinum blonde hair, which took her over 10 hours to colour.

Younger half-sister Kylie Jenner released a YouTube vlog on her channel on Wednesday, showing off her preparations for planning a Met Gala outfit.

A clip of the video shows Kylie, who wore an off-white wedding dress with a white baseball cap, testing her outfit 24 hours before the event, with Kim entering the room for a conversation. To which the 24-year-old said: “I can’t believe you’re literally dyeing your hair.”

Kylie’s daughter Stormi was in the room with Kendall Jenner, with Kim telling her niece: “My hair’s going to be blonde like Elsa’s”, to which Kylie replied: “You’re too bold for that. You’re too bold ”

Kim said: “I’ve been doing it for 10 hours already. I’ll risk losing my hair,” before whispering to prep her Marilyn Monroe look.

It was the first time all the Kardashian-Jenner sisters and mom Kris Jenner were in attendance, the first time Kourtney and Khloe were invited to the show.
